"Sotsugyou" (卒業)

Plot: you're responsible for helping five girls with varying problems make it through high school and enter a first-rank college. (Basically, there's an arrogant one who thinks she already knows everything, a delinquent with no interest in studying, an airheaded idol type, Juno from Brutus an athletic one, and a sickly bookworm.)

You are given... bizarrely broad powers over them, like telling them they can't go to church and should study instead.

The gameplay isn't really as good as in the sequel (the much better known Sotsugyou II, a.k.a. "Graduation" in English release) because you're lacking in interesting options. Whereas in Sotsugyou II you can choose teaching style, seating, subject, etc., here you mostly just look at their schedules, figure out which of them is doing the dumbest things, and replace them with actually useful activities.

I got everyone's grades up to great levels but inexplicably got a bad end for all of them (?), so I think I may have missed out on some other qualification. It wasn't an awful game, but I didn't really feel like playing through again to see what I did wrong.
